The Gothic style is familiar to everyone, so a lot of time had to be spent on refining the details and overall shapes to ensure it was recognizable. I especially enjoyed working on the bookshelves, as there were many design options to explore. The main challenge was managing all the small details while ensuring everything looked harmonious.

The most exciting part for me was creating the stained glass window. I worked with concept artist Paul Thureau, who came up with a great design featuring secret society symbols like keys and books. I made the material in Substance Designer, which allowed us to easily adjust the window’s look. We even incorporated Paul’s hand-painted symbols to give it a more handcrafted feel. The stained glass became a key feature of the circular room, and I really enjoyed working on it! Our lighting artist, Simo Kettunen, did an excellent job setting the mood, helping us achieve our goal of a modular, mysterious library with a blend of stone, wood, and metal materials.
